ISSUE #27 JANUARY 2010

Kirby's Korner

Happy New Year!!!

I cannot wait to see what 2010 has in store for me!  2009 was such a wonderful year and so much happened I can't imagine it getting any better. My highlights were....

At the beginning of 2009 we had turf grass installed in the ENTIRE play yard. It's easy on the paws and keeps me clean when it rains.
We also made more separation between the large dog and small dog area in order to keep the big guys like me out of the little yard.
The pool now has set hours of 9am-3pm each day which means I can go in there and do my doggie paddle whenever I want!
We added more play area around the back/side of building (Monitor coming soon to the reception room so you can see us playing there).
Retail store now offers more brands of food, treats, toys, collars and accessories!! (I LOVE to shop)
More training classes offered (Puppy I and II and Adult Obedience) so my 'brother' can learn to be an angel like me.
I still have friends from DAWG come play with me at Dioji too!  DAWG Days are a great opportunity for one adoptable dog to spend time each day away from the shelter to play and have a good time.

Thanks for playing with me this past year.

Bring it on 2010 - I AM READY FOR MORE!!!!

Did you Know?

Giardia

Giardia is a very common intestinal ‘bug’ that can cause your pup to feel under the weather.   If your dog has picked up giardia symptoms usually include vomiting, diarrhea, general lack of appetite and lethargy.  It is easily tested by your vet with a stool sample and cured with some take home medication.   Giardia is commonly seen after a bout of rain as many dogs pick it up from drinking stagnant water.  It can also be passed from dog to dog through saliva.   If your dog is exhibiting any of these symptoms, as always visit your vet and keep them home until they are well.

Barkimonial

Rexter says, “ArrrRRRauuUUuuu!!” which translates to:

Dude, you guys rock, cuz of you – me and my homies can chill and do our snoop doggy dawg thang and have a hood to hang.  Oh yeah and I let my mommy know I know when it’s Dioji-day by staring and following and staring and following her all morning until she takes me.

- Rex Wu

Email info@dioji.com if you have a barkimonial you would like to share.

Something people may not know about you
In my spare time I like to write stories and poems and hope one day to write a book.

Favorite or Funniest Dioji Moment
One of my first days working, a fire truck drove by Dioji. When the dogs heard the siren, about ten of them stood in a circle and howled together.  It was so funny!

Favorite activity with the dogs
Chasing and playing with them in the yard.
